Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology
The Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology (DIDE) is responsible for early warning, epidemic preparedness, and response. Port Health is coordinated by this unit as well as Cross-Border Surveillance and operates out of airports, seaports and ground crossings to limit the spread of public health risks while reducing disruptions with travel and trade. Currently negotiating a partnership with public and private universities to train and provide technical support in epidemiology and food safety.
